The Development Road Project could significantly change the geopolitics of the Middle East, especially in Iraq. It aims to improve cooperation among regional countries through economic integration and infrastructure development.
Iraq, which owns the project, is a key actor because of its natural resources and strategic location. Türkiye is also an important strategic partner because of its location and trade routes to Europe.
The project could reshape the geopolitics of Iraq and its neighboring countries. It is also important for regional cooperation and competition. This article examines the project’s risks and opportunities, its regional and global effects, and the positions of regional and global actors.
